FixedPlate sells dated tickets for set menus at neighborhood restaurants. This page says what we keep about you, why, and who sees it.
What we keep
- When you buy a ticket: your name, your email, your phone number if you give it, the restaurant, the date and time, the party size and what you paid.
- Your card: we never see or store it. Stripe takes the payment on its own page.
- When you use your ticket: when you were checked in, and any time change, cancellation, refund or problem you report.
- If you tick “Hear from [restaurant]”: that you said yes, to that one restaurant, by email, with the words you saw and when.
- How the site is used: pages viewed and buttons tapped, the link that brought you here (for example a newsletter or an Instagram post) and how fast pages load. See “Analytics” below.
Who sees it
- The restaurant you booked sees your name, party size, time and ticket status, so it can seat you. It sees your email for its own news only if you ticked the box for it.
- No other restaurant sees anything about you.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't send you marketing for a restaurant's guests on our own behalf.
- Companies that run parts of the service for us: Stripe (payments), Brevo (ticket emails and reminders), Supabase (our database), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (analytics) and Sentry (error reports, with no personal details). They use your information only to do that work.
- If the law requires it, we may share information with authorities.
Emails we send
Your ticket, reminders before your evening, a note when you're checked in, and any time change or refund. These are about your ticket, so they aren't marketing. A restaurant writes to you only if you ticked its box, and you can unsubscribe from it any time.
Analytics
We use PostHog to see which pages are used and where people get stuck. We don't record your screen. Ticket links and payment details are removed before anything is sent. When you buy, your visits are linked to a scrambled code made from your email, never the email itself, so we can count a sale once.
Cookies and storage
- Two cookies remember the first and the latest link that brought you here, for 90 days.
- PostHog keeps an anonymous visitor code in your browser.
- Restaurant staff and our back office use sign-in cookies; diners don't need an account.
How long we keep it
We keep ticket and payment records as long as we need them for your ticket, refunds, disputes, and our tax and accounting records. Analytics data is kept by PostHog under its own retention settings.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we keep what the law requires us to keep, such as payment records). California residents have these rights under state law. Write to hello@fixedplate.com; we answer within 30 days.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. Big changes are also announced on the site.
